The students in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics learn the art and science of diagnosis ​‚prevention and treatment of defects of teeth resulting in restoration of proper form ​‚function and esthetics. They will also learn advanced endodontic treatment that will help maintain and restore the health of the tooth in harmonious relation with the adjacent hard and soft tissues contributing to the general health and well being of the patient.

Programmes at the Department are planned to train and equip students with skills that will stand them in good stead as specialized dental health care professionals of tomorrow. They will be trained to use latest in dental materials, advanced diagnostics and technology in patient management like surgical operating microscope, Lasers and Digital radiography. They will also learn to perform advanced esthetic restorative procedures under the able supervision of experienced academicians. Students are encouraged to innovate and pursue quality research as well as publish and patent their work . The teaching is immersive and participatory and students emerge as confident professionals with good leadership skills .

Students participate in rendering treatment to the underprivileged sections of society at various dental camps , as well as in a rural set up . This focus on service to society creates healthcare workers who are compassionate, competent and service minded .
