Established in 1991 as the M S Ramaiah Dental College and Hospital, the Faculty of Dental Sciences (FDS) today offers a 4‑year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree and a 3‑year Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree. It also has academic research programmes and certificate programmes in Aesthetic Dentistry and Oral Implantology. All of the Faculty’s offerings are carefully designed keeping in mind the norms prescribed by the Dental Council of India.

FDS offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and academic research programmes. The curriculum is outcome-based, and theoretical learning is sharpened with rigorous practical training at the Dental Hospital.

At FDS, the focus of our research is predominantly on developing more effective and affordable ways to diagnose, prevent, and treat oral and dental health issues, thereby bettering the health and quality of life of individuals and communities.
