Academic Research Programmes
The Faculty of Dental Sciences has a robust academic research program that spans across the 9 specialties of dentistry. The presence of diverse faculties on the RUAS campus also offers scholars the opportunity to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to research, giving them a distinct advantage over their peers.
More than 30 faculty members are enrolled in the program themselves, and the current focus is biomaterials, regenerative materials, public health research, dental materials, and cariology.
Research projects of the program have received funding from national agencies such as ICMR, Wellcome DBT, DST, etc. Several project concepts have even been awarded patents and show immense potential for commercialisation.
The program — which emphasizes applied research — gives undergraduate and postgraduate students exposure to cutting-edge research and the latest developments in their field of study.
