A webinar on ​“National Education Policy 2020 – The way ahead for health science universities with special emphasis on dental education institutions” was organised by the Health Professions Unit of Faculty of Dental Sciences on 27^th January 2022. The programme started with opening remarks on ​“Atma Nirbhar Education”, ​“Richness of Indian education system”, connecting with the community and preventive care added value to the webinar by Professor Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Vice Chancellor and Professor Sai Baba, Registrar of RUAS. The speakers were Dr Chethan Singai, Dr Sivashakthy, Dr Pradnya Kakodkar,Dr Deepak Nallaswamy and Dr Alka Kale all with vast experience in the field of dental education. The sessions encompassed, brief orientation on National Educational Policy (NEP 2020), role of dental institutions in implementing NEP, Education 4.0, Educational leadership, micro-credentials. Future higher education, LEDGER, Edublocks, Academic Credit Bank and competency based education relevant to the academicians, curriculum designers and members of Board of studies with an experiential sharing on implementing technology based education in dental institutions. The panel discussion gave gave greater insight into drivers and barriers in implementing NEP 2020 in dental institutions.
