The OMR Department helps students develop expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders related to the mouth, jaw, gums, salivary glands, and surrounding structures. It is also home to Navajeevan, the Tobacco Cessation Clinic that conducts awareness and screening camps across the state.

This Department shapes students into dentists and surgeons by teaching them surgical and non-surgical ways to treat gum-related issues. Under the guidance of practicing doctors and surgeons, students also learn about implants, laser treatments, and aesthetic procedures.

The programmes offered by this Department cover surgical interventions, reconstructions, correction, and placement of implants to treat and manage diseases and deformities occurring in the mouth, jaw, head and neck region. Students also learn to deal with dental and facial pain and trauma, as well as nerve disorders.

The primary focus of this Department is on teaching students direct and indirect methods of restoration of teeth as non-invasively as possible. Students gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced practitioners. The teaching is immersive and participatory, and includes exposure to conducting screening and treatment camps.

This Department focuses on bite corrections, alignment of teeth as well as maintenance of overall dental health. It encourages learning through workshops, symposia, and seminars, and promotes innovation and research.

Established in 1991, this Department teaches students about dental anatomy, embryology, and oral histology. Students are also familiarised with histopathology, cytopathology, immunohistochemistry, and photomicrography. Experiential teaching is the norm and students learn to conduct investigative tests, and to examine and evaluate tissue, cells, and blood samples for abnormalities.

This Department teaches students about the prevention, diagnosis, and management of oral health problems in children, adolescents, and individuals with special needs. It inculcates a patient-first approach in students, urging them to prioritise patient care and comfort in everything from the environment to the treatment plan.

This FDS Department educates and trains undergraduate and postgraduate students in restoring and replacing missing teeth and oro-facial structures with minimum damage and disturbance to existing, healthy tissue, teeth, and structures. The Department guides students through their pre-clinical and clinical trials, and also involves them in outreach activities that guarantee exposure and learning.
